Caroline McNamara

Appointed to the Board in 2019

Caroline is a people enthusiast and currently enjoys a varied portfolio of work activities namely as an Independent Civil Celebrant, Mediator, Conflict Coach and Professional Training Role Player. After an initial career in Investment Banking and Marketing Communications & P.R.  she followed her dream into Acting. She graduated from UCD with a law degree (BCL) and has diplomas in Drama, Theatre Arts and Stagecraft from Coláiste Dhúlaigh and Speech and Drama Teaching from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Caroline is a co-founder of Serendipity Celebrants who perform ceremonies for every chapter of life.

Catherine Marshall

Appointed to the Board in 2018

Catherine Marshall is an art writer and curator. She has lectured in Art History (1986 -96) at Trinity College, Dublin and taught courses at the National College of Art and Design and University College Dublin. She became founding Head of Collections at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in 1995 and was seconded from there to the Arts Council of Ireland in 2007 and later to the Royal Irish Academy.

Curatorial projects include; Views from an Island; Contemporary Art from the Collection of the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Beijing and Shanghai, 2003, Kathleen Lynn, Insider on the Outside, Co. Mayo, 1916 Commemorative Project, at five locations in Mayo, 2016, Ain't I a Woman?, South Tipperary Arts Centre, Clonmel, 2018, and many exhibitions of art from the IMMA collection at the Museums and all over the country. In 2014 she co-edited The Art and Architecture of Ireland, Vol. V, Twentieth Century, and Modern Ireland in 100 Art works, Royal Irish Academy, 2015.

he contributed to The Atlas of the Great Famine (2013), the Famine Folio series from the Irish Great Hunger Museum, University of Quinnipiac, and has published monograph essays on many Irish artists. She is a regular reviewer with the Dublin Review of Books.
She is Chair of the Art Committee of Bealtaine, the annual nationwide multi-disciplinary arts festival, sits on the Board of KCAT, the Irish American Cultural Institute, Common Ground, and the South Tipperary Arts Centre.

Ursula Robb

Appointed to the Board in 2019

Ursula Robb graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 1989 and began her dance career with the Douglas Wright Dance Company, and the Royal New Zealand Ballet (1990 -1995).

In 1995 she moved to Belgium and worked with Wim Vandekeybus, Ultima Vez (1995-1997), Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, ROSAS (1997-2004) and Thomas Hauert, cie Zoo (2004-2005).

Ursula was a founder member of the New Zealand Dance Company (2012) and toured NZ with the company in 2013.

Since 2005 Ursula has worked as a freelance dancer and tutor and teaches regularly at P.A.R.T.S, (Performing Arts and Research Studios) Brussels, DDSKS,(Danish National School of Performing Arts) Copenhagen, NZSD (New Zealand School of Dance), Wellington, and most recently, on the BA and MA programs at the University of Limerick.

As a rehearsal director she has worked with Rosas, Paris Opera and Lyon Opera, setting Rosas repertoire.

In 2019, Ursula worked on two performance projects, one with the artist John Gerrard on a motion capture artwork which will form part of Galway, European Capital of Culture 2020 and the second with Jenny Roche, Ruth Gibson and Bruno Martelli on ‘Expanded Fields’, an installation /performance piece shown at the Limerick City Gallery, November 2019.

Ursula holds an MA in Cultural Policy and Arts Management (UCD, 2017) and lives in Co Kildare with her family.

 

Michael O'Reilly

Michael O Reilly rejoined the board in 2020 after a year's absence due to work commitments abroad.

Michael O Reilly is a former lawyer.  He has an extensive background in the arts and in political consultancy.  He previously worked with the Creative Ireland programme and on the 2016 Centenary programme. He has served as Chair of the Irish Hospice Foundation and the National Gallery of Ireland.

Garret Ward

Garret Ward has been working in the Financial sector for over 25 years in both London and Dublin. He specialises in Capital Markets, predominantly institutional equities with clients in Ireland, the UK, Europe and North America.  

Lucia Prihodova

Appointed to the board in 2020

Dr Lucia Prihodova works as Research Manager at the at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Lucia holds a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at University of Groningen, Netherlands and her research focuses on various aspects of health systems related to work environment, workforce training and wellbeing and patient outcomes.  


Lucia is a holder and collaborator on national and international research grants and she has managed large scale research projects along with their subsequent knowledge translation and dissemination. She is an experienced manager, with key skills in leadership, stakeholder engagement and strategic planning. Avid consumer of all things arts, with a particular interest in modern female artists.
