Appointed to the Board in 2019
Ursula Robb graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance in 1989 and began her dance career with the Douglas Wright Dance Company, and the Royal New Zealand Ballet (1990 -1995).
In 1995 she moved to Belgium and worked with Wim Vandekeybus, Ultima Vez (1995-1997), Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, ROSAS (1997-2004) and Thomas Hauert, cie Zoo (2004-2005).
Ursula was a founder member of the New Zealand Dance Company (2012) and toured NZ with the company in 2013.
Since 2005 Ursula has worked as a freelance dancer and tutor and teaches regularly at P.A.R.T.S, (Performing Arts and Research Studios) Brussels, DDSKS,(Danish National School of Performing Arts) Copenhagen, NZSD (New Zealand School of Dance), Wellington, and most recently, on the BA and MA programs at the University of Limerick.
As a rehearsal director she has worked with Rosas, Paris Opera and Lyon Opera, setting Rosas repertoire.
In 2019, Ursula worked on two performance projects, one with the artist John Gerrard on a motion capture artwork which will form part of Galway, European Capital of Culture 2020 and the second with Jenny Roche, Ruth Gibson and Bruno Martelli on ‘Expanded Fields’, an installation /performance piece shown at the Limerick City Gallery, November 2019.
Ursula holds an MA in Cultural Policy and Arts Management (UCD, 2017) and lives in Co Kildare with her family.
