Paul White

Australian born Paul White, one of Australia’s most highly regarded and awarded dance artists, moved to Berlin in early 2011.  Until 2016, he was employed by Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, as the first dancer to join the company after Bausch’s death. Paul only appears now as a guest in Bausch’s works and has returned to life as a freelance artist in Berlin. 

His more than twenty-year long career as a performer and artistic collaborator has included working with companies and directors; Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, Lloyd Newson (DV8 Physical Theatre), Familie Floez, Stadtsoper Berlin, Tanja Liedtke and foundation, Nigel Jamieson and Garry Stewart (Australian Dance Theatre), Chunky Move, Narelle Benjamin, Kristina Chan, Martin Del Amo, Danzahoy.

Paul is a Patron of Tanzrauschen e.V a dance-on-film society, and was a founding member of the Free Arts Scene Society, Wuppertal Germany. He is the recipient of multiple national and international awards for his performance and choreographic work. (Australian Dance Awards, Helpmann Awards, Tänzer des Jahres, UK Critics Circle award). He has extensive experience in the development and delivery of community and educational programs, and was a co-leader of the Wisdom Unlimited course for Landmark Worldwide from 2018-2020.
